Measuring Guide

How to measure your windows and choose the right size and header.

Two measurements, that's it

Measure once, hang with confidence

The right size is the difference between a curtain that hangs and one that drapes. Grab a metal tape measure, note your rod width and drop, and you're ready. Here's exactly how.

How to measure

Three quick steps

1 · Measure the width

Measure your curtain rod end to end (pole to pole). For a full, gathered look, plan for total panel width of about 2× the rod width — so a 60" rod wants roughly 120" of curtain.

2 · Measure the drop

Measure from the top of the rod (or where the panel top will sit) straight down to where you want the hem — sill, below the sill, or the floor.

3 · Choose your fall

Just kissing the floor reads tailored; add 2–4" for a soft, luxe puddle. Round up to the nearest available length.

Choose your header

Three ways to hang

Rod pocket

A sewn pocket the rod slides through, for soft, classic gathers. Best for panels you'll mostly leave in place.

Back tab

Hidden loops create clean, even folds with no visible hardware — a refined, modern look.

Grommet

Metal-ringed top that glides on the rod in uniform waves. Great for curtains you open and close daily.
